🌽 Food drive planned Thursday
at the Long Valley Green Market 🌽

WASHINGTON TWP.  Observer-Tribune – The Long Valley Green Market will host a food drive on Thursday, Aug. 11, to collect for the Long Valley Food Pantry.

The market is open from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursdays, at 20 Schooley’s Mountain Road.

The drive will accept non-perishables along with fresh produce that doesn’t need to be refrigerated including zucchini, green beans and tomatoes.

Maria Birch also will read aloud to children from 4 to 5 p.m. Members of the Kids 4 Kindness Club will help children to make complimentary crafts.

The market offers food grown by local organic farmers, and goods from local artisans and vendors. Available are locally grown fruit and vegetables, farm fresh eggs, homemade pasta, pastured chicken, pork and lamb, handmade empanadas, artisan bread, pickles, honey, imported olive oil, desserts and more.

The market also offers handcrafted jewelry, spa products, photography and pottery.

Aug. 18 will be Health and Wellness Day and visitors can meet local health and wellness providers. The Long Valley Ladies walking Group also will meet at 7 p.m. at the head of the Columbia Trail.

Aug. 25 will feature a scavenger hunt along the trail with prizes and clues about goods at the market.
